The sculpture series was formed by manipulating wax bars typically used in lost-wax casting process. I hollowed, bent, and shaped the wax bars to capture movement before lost-wax casting them in iron. The sculptures were metal-finished: surfaces were sandblasted, coloured black, and waxed. Each piece was mounted on oak plinths personally sourced from Norfolk, cut with a chainsaw to preserve natural texture and irregularity, then treated and waxed to reveal the wood’s grain and colour. The process transforms ephemeral gestures into permanent material, uniting metal and wood in a dialogue of craft, form, and personal touch.
